What is Sound healing?
Sound healing is a holistic wellness practice that uses intentional sound vibrations and frequencies through instruments such as crystal singing bowls, tuning forks, drums, chimes, and other instruments, to support relaxation, nervous system regulation, stress reduction, and emotional release, among other benefits. Sound healing is a complementary wellness practice that supports the body's ability to restore balance.

Sound healing gets to the root of the issue, not just the surface level symptoms. Two main factors that exacerbate physical and mental health challenges are chronic stress and suppressed emotions, which lead to an incoherent resonance in our electromagnetic energy field. Sound healing therapy helps address this through bringing your energy field back into coherent resonance and harmony. Sound therapy works through setting the intention, triggering a relaxation response, releasing stuck or repressed emotions, balancing your energetic biofield, transforming beliefs, and engaging you in the process.
What is the difference between a group Sound bath and a private sound healing session?
During a group sound bath, I use a variety of instruments including crystal singing bowls, chimes, drums, rain sticks, rattles, and more to create an immersive experience. Participants simply lay and relax throughout the sound bath, typically with their eyes closed. Many of my sound baths have a specific intention or theme coupled with a guided meditation. My goal for a group sound bath is to create a calming, relaxing and restorative experience.

During a private sound healing therapy session, I use a variety of instruments both on and around the body, but the main instruments I use are tuning forks. This modality leverages sound, vibration, and frequency to gently transform on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level. Throughout a typical session, I focus on balancing your chakras (energy centers), addressing excess and depleted energy flow in your meridians by working on acupressure points, and using personalized methods to address any core challenges you are experiencing. I will use a combination of my intuition and your feedback to develop a protocol that's individualized to you. You remain completely clothed during the session and can simply lay, relax and enjoy.  When the session is over we will discuss anything that came up and how you can continue your individual healing practice on your own between sessions.
what do you experience during a sound bath or sound healing session?
Common experiences could include deep relaxation, a quieting of the mind, seeing colors or images, feeling energy moving in your body, yawning, feeling hot or cold, falling asleep, laughing, crying, or even nothing at all. Sometimes the healing effects may not be felt immediately and may be felt later. Each person and each session is different and it's all normal and perfectly ok!
Results and/or improvements are typically felt immediately or soon after the session. There are no officially recognized side effects with sound healing, it is a very gentle and effective modality.
what are the benefits of sound healing?
There are so many benefits that it's hard to list them all, but I'll list the common uses and benefits. Sound healing uses sound, frequency, and vibration to facilitate transformational wellness at the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level. Sound healing sessions often induce a deep sense of calm and relaxation, reduction in stress, a sense of balance and harmony, and feeling 'lighter'. People often report having better sleep, emotional release, better focus, reduction in anxiety and depression, and improved pain management.
how should I prepare for a sound healing session or sound bath?
It's always a good idea to drink plenty of water before any sort of body work to enable maximum benefits. Make sure you bring water with you to drink afterwards as well! Water helps flush out any toxins that may be released during the session.

For a Sound Bath: You will be laying down for over an hour so you will want to dress comfortably and bring anything that will ensure your comfort including things like a pillow, knee bolster, thicker yoga mat, or eye mask.

For a private Sound Healing session: You should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to relax and breathe deeply. You do not need to remove any clothing for a session. For a sound healing session, you may want to wear thinner clothing that will allow maximum benefit from the vibrations of the tuning forks.
